Subway Song

I used to listen to music to fall asleep at night and when I would put this album on, by the time it got to subway song I would be almost asleep and suddenly the SCREAM would come on and I would bolt upright in bed. Eventually I came to really dislike this song....

According to Smith it was a story that was told him, then he says:

"I had this habit of telling people I knew someone who'd been murdered in a subway. It wasn't true at all."

Zephy, that scream always gets me. I hate it, but the song itself is pretty cool.

I had to scrub off this song from the album because the scream really got me !

I think this song is about how terrifying one's mind can make a harmless situation out to be.

You know the screams gotta come sometime but you don't quite know when. And then.......

When I saw The Cure play live in Manchester I convinced everyone I was with to shout out "Subway song!" during the Encore. And they actually played it! However, They didn't do the scream. Major disappointment!

I think it might actually be about someone being killed in the subway at night.

This song is creepy. Imagined or not...
