I just started recently getting into joni mitchell. I really like the message of this song. She's such a great poet.
Fear/challenges can either help you to become better, or swallow you into it's depths. To understand that there is a choice.
This is a powerful song about being able to handle all of the issues that fear can take us...and how we are to survive. I love this song. I am madly in love with Joni.

Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy and the character of Galadriel, who provided travellers with a vile of light to fight off the darkness and combat the fears and dangers of the wilderland that follows in their trip.
