All Hail The New Flesh Lyrics
Hey man, I'm going to fuck this shit up
No fear, no compromise, I want it all
I will never be afraid, and I'll die with what I believe
All of you assholes can stay rotting here
I do not care, I will not be there
I have got to save myself
And don't tell me there's no one else
And all you are is all you are...
I'm so sorry (for you), I'm sorry...
So all hail the new flesh
Because it suits me fine...
Just get away, you motherfuck
And we'll be back if you come
For what this means to me, you piece of shit...
I'll see you pigs in hell
I just know everything's going to be OK
No fear, no compromise, I want it all
I will never be afraid, and I'll die with what I believe
I do not care, I will not be there
I have got to save myself
And don't tell me there's no one else
And all you are is all you are...
I'm so sorry (for you), I'm sorry...
Because it suits me fine...
And we'll be back if you come
For what this means to me, you piece of shit...
I'll see you pigs in hell
I just know everything's going to be OK

This song appears to be about transcending the barriers of the physical and taking on a higher form, possibly touching on a Meshuggah-like theme of man combining with machine. It's the protagonist's declaration of his new state and of his contempt for the mere mortals he has left behind. Very metal!
when i listen to this song, the lyrics feel like they are talking about somebody who lovess metal(or more so SYL) talking about how its making him stronger and more brave. "i'm so sorry" thats how i feel about people who can't understand the beauty of SYL, i feel so sorry for them.
You could abbreviate this song to "I'm fucking awesome" without changing its meaning.
I agree with Chain Noose, this song appears to be about transcendence. I like to think of anything that one creates as an extension of that person's self, and specifically in the case of an artist, the medium they use for their self-expression is like a flesh that holds the piece of their mind they've extended onto it. We're living in a digital age, our music is primarily digital, coded in binary machine language... this is our new flesh, not machines specifically, but the mind of the machines. We've created a body that is pure mind, a clear step forward in our evolution... and the new flesh suits Devin fine.
