Written in the Spring of 62, with John as the major contributor, Ask Me Why was from the Beatles Cavern set that year. George Martin didn't believe it strong enough to be their first single. On the re-record in Feb 63, it became the B side of Please Please Me.

This song is in my top 10 'Favourite Beatles Songs' list. IMO, the best of their ballads. Ant
one of their earliast great selfwriting harmonies. well written and well done singing
Can't believe there's only three comments here. This song is so underrated in my opinion. It's so sweet. It's almost like a confession that we're not meant to hear.
