Sludgefeast

when I saw Dinosaur a couple weeks ago and they played this song some assholes hit J's mic and he got hit in the mouth. He came back on, but it really sucked that thoes dicks did it while he was up there performing for them.

Pretty straightfoward lyrically.

But man the music is amazing!

Well for those who don't know what it means: I think it's about a guy who basically liked this girl so he tries to talk to her, so he either fails or can't get up the nerve to talk to her an dno he lament's it. He works up the courage and it's got him nervous and wishes she would "hang around" so he could talk to her with this new found courage but she doesn't as he doesn't even register in her brain as anything other than 'some guy' at a party or bar or whatever.

Definately about trying to pick up a girl but the line "these guts are killing, but I can't stop now" makes me think he's drinking to gain the courage to talk to this girl, but by that time he's too much of a mess, and she doesn't want anything to do with him. Maybe?

It is really hard to talk to the girl you really like. I like this song but sometimes i think it is too whiny-

Awesome guitar. My favorite Dinosaur Jr. song, Sludgefeast is really just an excuse for J. to play some MEAN guitar!
