One of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. J's singing is so heartfelt and mesmerizin'. Needless to say that the solo is fuckin' great, like in almost every Dinosaur Jr. song, lol. Buy "Where You Been".. NOW!

Dinosaur Jr. rule, I only started listening to them about a week ago and they're one of my favourite bands already, and this is probably my favourite song by them. I'm not exactly sure what its about, but i think having someone die would fit pretty well. When he says: "I feel ok Sure, I know that's not what people say" Thats very true, because often when people have people they love die, its such a shock they don't feel bad at all at first, its a while after that they really feel it, even if people expect them to feel bad straight away.
this song is about when j was living with a girl. he kicked her out because she wasn't showing any addiction to him or respecting him. when he felt like he was getting taking advantage of. now she left. he says i hope you still have your friends wherever your going because thats the whole reason why im asking you to leave and if they stop hanging out with you, you'll see that you lost me. and everyone in his family and friends are telling him that he's happier and back to normal , but he's not.then he talks about how he feels okay and thats he is not better, like how everyone thinks he is. shes gone and he knows she's out there and his friends tell him not to worry about it cuz she wasn't really there for him anyways, so he misses her. she wont talk to him because she thinks he invited her to live with him and he is asking her to leave and she feels unloved. but he knows he didnt invite her, but he did, but not really meaning to invite her. so he feels like shit because shes gone now and he's questiong if he really did invite her, should he feel bad, but towards the end he just wants her to go back to their home and whatever else emotional she has against him to bring it too; he just wants her to come back in.
