You can look to the stars in search of the answers
Look for God and life on distant planets
Have your faith in the ever after
While each of us holds inside the map to the labyrinth
And heaven's here on earth

We are the spirit the collective conscience
We create the pain and the suffering and the beauty in this world
Heaven's here on earth

In our faith in humankind
In our respect for what is earthly
In our unfaltering belief in peace and love and understanding

I've seen and met angels wearing the disguise
Of ordinary people leading ordinary lives
Filled with love, compassion, forgiveness and sacrifice
Heaven's in our hearts

In our faith in humankind
In our respect for what is earthly
In our unfaltering belief in peace and love and understanding

Look around
Believe in what you see
The kingdom is at hand
The promised land is at your feet
We can and will become what we aspire to be
If Heaven's here on earth

If we have faith in humankind
And respect for what is earthly
And an unfaltering belief that truth is divinity
And heaven's here on earth

I've seen spirits
I've met angels
I've touched creations beautiful and wondrous
I've been places where I question all I think I know
But I believe, I believe, I believe this could be heaven

We are born inside the gates with the power to create life
And to take it away
The world is our temple
The world is our church
Heaven's here on earth

If we have faith in humankind
And respect for what is earthly
And an unfaltering belief
In peace and love and understanding
This could be heaven here on earth

Heaven's in our heart

i believe that this song is about how us as human beings, with our flaws tend to look at the negitives and get fixated on them, forgetting the fact that the world is actually a wonderful thing that gives beauty and wonder, along with the people who do try ans share that with people who do not believe it to be so (I've seen and met angels wearing the disguise, ordinary people leading ordinary lives) and how the world could be a better happier place for all if we learned lessons and had faith in what life has to offer us, i think it talks about the flaws of some people, and hope that we can gain by others.

this song is one of her most meaningful..

if we treat the earth like our "heaven", it will become that way and we'll live in peace with it. if our only religion was trust in mankind and respect for what is earthly we'd have a heaven here on earth.

This song speaks of the world that we live in, HERE! She is saying that everyone is always saying the only way that we will be truly happy and at peace is when we die and go to a place called Heaven. This song speaks of Heaven Here On Earth. Since we are here now, we all together collectively have the chance to make the world this place of remarkable joy. "I've seen and met angels wearing the disguise of ordinary people living ordinary lives filled with love and compassion, forgiveness, and sacrifice"(this is a figure speech). There are many people who freely give, freely help, and have a true heart of gold. If we just have faith in humankind (the people in the world around us) and respect for what is earthly and we believe that truth is divinity, this could be heaven here on earth. We need to look around and believe in the things and people around us because we are already here. The promise land is at our feet. We dont' need to wait to die to live peacefully. We can do this now.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
