River Is Wide Lyrics
Dance with me baby baby
Dance with me baby baby
Cause the river sees (??)
That the river gets wide
The river gets long now
The water runs deep
As our love gets strong now
Oh baby don't fight
Cause girl all tonight
You belong to me...
Upon the roof we heard the gentle rain
With the rhythm of our heartbeats down it came
As each drop will wash away the pain
No one on Earth can stop one drop of rain
And the river gets wide
The river gets long now
The feeling gets deep
As our love gets strong now
So baby don't fight
Cause girl all tonight
You belong to me
It's too late to turn the tide baby
It's too late to hide away baby
It's too late for both denying to be-ee-ee (??)
The river gets wide
The river gets long now
the water gets deep
As our love gets strong now (fading out)
Dance with me baby baby
Cause the river sees (??)
That the river gets wide
The river gets long now
The water runs deep
As our love gets strong now
Oh baby don't fight
Cause girl all tonight
You belong to me...
Upon the roof we heard the gentle rain
With the rhythm of our heartbeats down it came
As each drop will wash away the pain
No one on Earth can stop one drop of rain
And the river gets wide
The river gets long now
The feeling gets deep
As our love gets strong now
So baby don't fight
Cause girl all tonight
You belong to me
It's too late to turn the tide baby
It's too late to hide away baby
It's too late for both denying to be-ee-ee (??)
The river gets wide
The river gets long now
the water gets deep
As our love gets strong now (fading out)

My favorite Grass Root song!
It's okay of a song, but I wouldn't say it's their best. I remember this from the "Lovin' Things" album of their's. great song, but not sure what it's about.
These are the lyrics to "Lovin' Things," not "The River Is Wide." I'll try to correct this when I get the time.
Song was written by Gary Knight and B. Admire. Zekley and Bottler wrote "Wait A Million Years" and "Sooner or Later"
