I Miss Lyrics

I miss hate, and I miss war
I miss killing people, and I miss the point

Hold me down, 'cos I can't stop myself
Hold me down, and I’ll repress myself

I miss religion, and I miss dictators
I miss their reasons, and I miss the point

Hold me down, 'cos I can't stop myself
Hold me down, and I’ll repress myself
Hold me down, but I won't be beaten
Hold me down from this wealth of treason

There's no way you'll ever convince me
There's no way you'll ever convince me
There's no way you'll ever

Hold me down, 'cos I can't stop myself
Hold me down, and I'll repress myself
Hold me down, but I won't be beaten
Hold me down from this wealth of treason
Hold me down, 'cos I can't stop myself
Hold me down, and I'll repress myself
Hold me down, but I won't be beaten
Hold me down from this wealth of treason

i see it as a man whos in love with someone he cant have, but he cant walk away so shes "holding him down". cus he cant tell her, he stops hiself and represses his feelings. i ignore the two verses because for me they dont tie in with the rest of the song. this song is the defitiion of beautiful. sunna were a great band...

This seems to be about a person(narrator) who is speaking as the voice of another(subject).

The subject is irreversably conditioned "there is no way you will ever convince me", narrator speaks in place of the subject asking others to repeatedly "hold me down" because he cannot stop his destructive mindset, a mindset that misses hate, war, religion and dictators (a "wealth of treason")a mindset that he cannot be escape or be convinced otherwise, he cannot stop himself.

I think this song is about how religion and government are responsible for alot of hate and murder in the world. "I miss religion, and I miss dictators I miss their reasons, and I miss the point " These are the reasons he had to hate and kill. I think he's saying you wont be able to change his mind about religion or government. He has realized that these things become intrinsically evil and he's made up his mind to not accept them.
