Clarice Lyrics

Clarice lay down your mind, it's there just hard to find
Follow me as we wind our way, away

Behind an open door there lies a million more
Follow me as we wind our way, away

Time is coming soon I'll find you (Time is coming soon I'll find you)
Time is coming soon I'll find you (Time is coming soon I'll find you)
Time is coming soon, time is coming soon

Behind an open door there lies a million more
Follow me as we wind our way, away

Time is coming soon I'll find you (Time is coming soon I'll find you)
Time is coming soon I'll find you (Time is coming soon I'll find you)
Time is coming soon, time is coming soon

He has a girlfriend who is afraid or intentionally does not reveal herself to him "lay down your mind" he is intent on finding the "real her" behind the mirage, he assures her that if she is afraid of being an open book (open door) there will still be a dynamic to the relationship because all relationships evolve, change, etc. Am I close?

I really love this song and Snowprincess is right that it can be seen on a personal level, opening one to others.

In addition to that interpretation, I have always heard it as a private spiritual journey, too. He is advising Clarice that "behind an open door...there lies a million more." It speaks to me of the many roads to spiritual enlightenment.

I find a lot of comfort in the line "it's there, just hard to find"...because enlightenment IS hard (difficult)...but those who persevere will be sure to find it. The incredibly beautiful and dreamlike music certainly reinforces this notion of a spiritual enterprise.
