this song is amazing. I think it's about the guy moving away from the person he loves and then realizing that that person is the one for him.
You guys are pretty much right on with the meaning of the song. I just wanted to add that Jeff (the singer) writes the lyrics to all of Tesla's original songs. Everything he writes and sings comes from the heart, and this song is actually about him having to leave his woman to go on tour.
It is about a guy who has to go away from the one he loves (that is his paradise) for some reasons (ie work?) and he is counting the days to come back home to her and swearing he will never go away again.
To me, this is one of the best love songs ever! My opinion, a guy leaves his woman, reasons unknown...maybe they split...maybe a business trip...who knows!.. anyway, he misses her and realizes that he can't live life without her. He just can't wait to get back to her, because to him, she is his paradise...I love the line, "I'll never say goodbye again, no" That really makes me feel good....
