In Death, A Song Lyrics

you came back to a place without sun
and you don't seem to know what you've done
to me
now i see
darkness is what you left in me

you went with nothing to fear
came back with nothing to lose
and with summer leaving us here now
we're thinking of what to chose

i know so well what is wrong
a language that is hard to speak
for all of us lies in death a song
in times when truth is turning weak

This is a song I really relate to.

When I listened to it first, I was in a relationship that was obviously going down the drain. But since each of us was in a different country, we couldn't really break up yet. Anyway, before she came back here, I would listen to this song a lot, since basically everything would fit my/our situation.

When she came back, the sun was going back down. I live way up north, so there is a marked differenve between winter and summer - and in winter there is hardly any sun at all. She came back in September, when winter was arriving - she came back to a place without sun.

Since it was obvious, even before she came back, that we'd break up, she "came back with nothing to lose".

We spoke different languages, and she was studying my native tongue - "a language that is hard to speak" (her language isn't that easy, either!).

This whole song relates pretty well to my situation at the time, almost word for word. So obviously it means a lot to me.

I love this song. My ex-girlfriend made me know Katatonia, and months after she left me, I started to hear Tonight's Decision. This song talked about me.

I think that the song is about someone who is left by other person "you went with nothing to fear", and he goes down and depressed: "Now i see/ darkness is what you left in me" But the other person cames and want to be together again: "came back with nothing to lose" . The singer is mad at him/her and says that "You came back to a place without sun/ and you don't seem to know what you've done" And the singer is thinking if he should let her return to his heart "and with summer leaving us here now we're thinking of what to chose" although he is hurt.

The song is about the hurt that the singer feels when the loved one leaves him, and the wrath of seeing how the loved one returns pretending that he didn't do anything wrong.
