For My Demons Lyrics
well i'm here
and summer is gone i hear
so pray for me
as i now leave your town
when did i say this
i will never leave
i can't recall this
moment in my life
you would never sleep at night
if you knew what i've been through
and this thought is all i have
to trust upon when light is gone
my problem was
that you kept me here too long
and today is when
we'll regret that i came by
when did i say this
i will never leave
i can't recall this
moment in my life
life is full of darkness
and murderers come my way
someday you will join them
and i will let you in
and summer is gone i hear
so pray for me
as i now leave your town
when did i say this
i will never leave
i can't recall this
moment in my life
if you knew what i've been through
and this thought is all i have
to trust upon when light is gone
that you kept me here too long
and today is when
we'll regret that i came by
when did i say this
i will never leave
i can't recall this
moment in my life
and murderers come my way
someday you will join them
and i will let you in

I have a differen't interpretation of the first verse. I read it like this:
When did I say this: "I will never leave" I can't recall this moment in my life
He(Jonas) is leaving, while someone is wanting him to stay. This person quotes him as saying he would never leave, but he argues that he never said "I will never leave".
In the next verse Jonas is essentially giving us(or the person) the reason for his departure, and it has to do with his troubled past. Maybe he feels he will only bring trouble if he stays.
The last verse is difficult to comprehend.
"Murderers come my way, someday you will join them"
Perhaps whatever Jonas did in the past caused a bounty to be placed on his head, and even the person who wants him to stay would kill him, if they knew what it was he did.
Katatonia is so poetic and reflective. They're the modern Edgar Allen Poe, easily. I love the inflections Jonas Renske places on his words. Absolutely beautiful.
The first verse is about suicide I think. Summer is gone I.E life as a pleasant thing is gone. The second verse is about regret, pehaps he told someone what he was going to do, and now denies it. The chorus explains why it has come so far. The third verse is where he blames someone close to him for keeping him alive, and that they will both regret he was born. The last verse he predicts that the person keeping him alive will at some time join the others and he will have no more reasons to live.
Very beautiful song. Almost scary.
Things have changed and I can't stand to be here any longer. You don't understand me, but you'll hate me for leaving- I'll let you kill me for hurting you.
In the first verse it makes me think that he (Jonas Renske) may have said something that he didn't want to let out to someone (possibly moving) so he denies that he says it the next time speaking.
The second verse I believe he might have witnessed a death, or something to another person (maybe attempted suicide) and if he tells the person which he speaks to about it that s/he will be spooked and could do something.
The third verse is that the person is making him stay at their place, or with them and s/he has he let the secret slip and now wishes that it didn't happen at all.
In the final verse he is giving up the fact that the secret is out and there is no reason to bottle it up inside, now the person who found out needs to just come his way in due time.

right now
For me its about depression.
How he continually tries to get back into the world but gets torn down, how he regrets that he waist so much time being sad and depressed.
Last verse could even be about how he considers taking his own life.
I think this song is a reference to someones depression and the way he or she think on ending the life s/he is living at the moment, that person has kept it as a secret ("My problem was that you kept me here too long and today is when we'll regret that I came by").
The chours is a reference of all the suffering living on that person and the way it torments s/he.
"When did I say this I will never leave I can't recall this Moment in my life" its obviously a dispiute between his/her decisions on commiting suicide.
"Life is full of darkness And murderers come my way Someday you will join them And I will let you in" a final message to all the people s/he knows, saying that maybe someday they will understand why did it ended that way.
