Shatterday Lyrics
Our days are numbered 666
And I'll begin the countdown by calling off the circus
Somewhere in these cryptic scriptures
I'll find myself drifing in a sky full of
Scars they cut into you
Blisters, rose colored hue
Mayday, we're going down
These mescaline memories are morose
Your kerosene company's comatose
Our days are numbered 321
And when you bit the bullet I held the smoking gun
Somewhere in these violent volumes
I'll find myself drifting in a sky full of
Scars they cut into you
Blisters, rose colored hue
Mayday, we're going down
These mescaline memories are morose
Your kerosene company's comatose
And I would stick up half of my cold eye
To set you on your head
If I were you then I would memorize
This loose lipped lullaby instead of waiting, carving out your own
Scars they cut into you
Blisters, rose colored hue
Mayday we're going down
Follow me once around
Scars they cut into you
Blisters, rose colored hue
Mayday, we're going down
These mescaline memories are morose
Your kerosene company's comatose
And I'll begin the countdown by calling off the circus
Somewhere in these cryptic scriptures

So 7 years after the first posting and several meaningless posts later, no one knows what the hell this song means or what it's saying. Maybe if all you assholes who happened to see these guys live had bothered just asking what it meant we would know by now, but instead you guys were mesmerized by how "nice" the lead singer was that you all forgot to ask. I think it's pretty stupid how so many people rock out to songs that they don't even understand, or bother trying to. "I don't get this song but it rocks! Whoo!"
Minutes after that post, I think I realized what those two lines meant
And I would stick up half of my cold eye To set you on your head
With a black eye, sometimes you can only open it halfway. Religious people attack him, but he believes he is right and they are chasing meaningless things.
Minutes after reading this latest post, I just realized you're a dipshit.

There are two people here. People who love the lead singer more than they care about the meaning and people who are hypocrites. Hypocrites because you attack others for not contributing t the discussion of the meaning of the song, but not putting your two cents in. Here is me interpretation.
I think he is referencing to the Book of Revelation (BoR) from the Bible and it's description of the last days. It seems he thinks that people are saying that the end of the world is nearing because of all the sin in our lives.
Our days are numbered 666 And I'll begin the countdown by calling off the circus Somewhere in these cryptic scriptures I'll find myself drifing in a sky full of
He starts counting the days with the number of the devil by calling out that religion means nothing (calling off the circus) and stating that if he considered the Scriptures being right then the world would be a lot worse for him.
Scars they cut into you Blisters, rose colored hue Mayday, we're going down
Here he describes the world he would see if he believed in the scriptures.
These mescaline memories are morose Your kerosene company's comatose
Mescaline is a crystalline powder that cause hallucinations. The events in the BoR were dreamed by John, but Zach thinks they are just morose hallucinations that John wrote down. I connect kerosene to fire and think that by kerosene company, he means the religious people who always claim people will burn. He says they are comatose, meaning they aren't functioning for themselves, religion controls them.
Our days are numbered 321 And when you bit the bullet I held the smoking gun Somewhere in these violent volumes I'll find myself drifting in a sky full of
321 is really 3-2-1, the end of the countdown. And the big surprise is that nothing happened, so he has effectively killed religion. He makes reference to violent volumes, or the Bible which has many books. He says they are violent because a lot of people disagree over interpretations and it causes contention.
And I would stick up half of my cold eye To set you on your head If I were you then I would memorize This loose lipped lullaby instead of waiting, carving out your own
I have yet to figure out the first two lines there, but I think his point here is to get the message of the song rather than trying to carve out your own place in heaven.
Basically, he thinks religion is crap is what I get out of it. As for how I feel about it, I don't agree with it at all. I'm disappointed with my conclusion because it is such an amazing song. But, it is a hard song to figure out and I hope I'm wrong and that Zach means something else.
Umm..last time I checked, this box said, "What does this song mean to you?", not "Have you ever seen Vendetta Red" or "How great is this song."I don't care if you've ever seen these people or how nice they were.Does anyone have a halfway intelligent comment on the actual lyrics?other than how "great" they are, obviously.
Ok, really, not to be a bitch or anything, but seriously shut up about how nice of a damn guy he is.... I mean its great you all got to meet him and whatnot, and im so damn happy you all think they're an incredible band, as do I, but what do you think the damn song is about!!! KEY TOPIC HERE! not you personal opinion on randon shit! once again sorry to be bitchy but im sick of looking through SONG MEANINGS and finding peoples personal fucking thoughts! thanks.
this song is sooo amazing
I saw Vendetta Red in Pittsburgh when I went to the Warped Tour in Aug. 2002. They were just terrible live...I really hated them. I downloaded some of there stuff and the studio stuff by them is really fucking good. This song is excellent.
vendetta red is amazing. hopefully i will ge to see them at a show soon. i really dont know what this song means, but i like all the colors in it.
YEAH this song is good lol. I saw vendetta red at a something corporate show last month and he was a freakin awesome psycho. He jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed w/ the mic in his hand still singing. And then afterwards while like soco and tjt were on...he was chillen behind the tables where they sell stuff helping those seller people sell his EP's...Plus his curly fro is awesome. lol...I still like Caught you like a cold the best though! But this song is AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
i saw vendetta red 3 times on their last tour i thought they rocked every time...this is by far the catchiest song though i love it
