First song i ever danced to. personaly i think this song is great, to me it is all about how he wants to get to know her, but something (like a broken relastionship in the past) has made her, untrusting about him

i love this song, it describes perfectly those beginning stages, where you just want to know more about them and make them happy/happier than they have been and let them know that you arent gonna be one to hurt them

I'm a singer, and this is one of my favorite songs to sing. There has been so much to learn from this song. Firstly is Joe's pure light tones. The lyrics have a gentle rhythm, which lends to the overall romantic feeling. He does a lot of little things that perhaps some listeners do not notice. He throws in a lot of little softly percussive sounds (uh, oh, ah, mm, no, so, yeah), as well as subtle audible rhythmic breath in between phrases. And he recorded like a dozen tracks to form the super-smooth chorus and harmony, which there's obviously no way to do live with one singer.

If anyone has seen the video for this song it explains it perfectly. Basically this girl is getting treated horribly by her boyfriend (which the singer sees) and he wants to be the 'man' for her, someone better than this shitty boyfriend.

He's professing his feelings to her and wants to know everything about her to make her feel good and special. So he can treat her like she deserves to be treated.

I agree, it's a classic R&B song. One of my favorites.

I always try to hide my emotions, I’ve never loved before never planned on it, didn’t believe in it. He’s proven me wrong but I’ve just build up this whole defense against feeling for people in fear that I’d get hurt and slowly I let him in but he’s waiting patiently for me. “I wish that I could take a journey through your mind, alright And find emotions that you always try to hide babe, oh I do believe that there's a love you wanna share, oh, oh I'll take good care of you lady, have no fear, oh So I wanna know”

so idk why I basically just ranted on about my personal business like any of you care but that’s why this song is so special to me and I’m sure same goes for other couples. This is like one of the most perfect loves songs and I just love songs that have more personal meaning than just being of one’s liking.

I have been using this site for awhile and finally signed up just to comment on this song. I am also really surprised there are not more comments on it. I can easily say that this is one of the best R&B songs I have ever heard. It is very beautiful and everything seems to be done just right. It's the type of song you whisper in your girlfriend's ear while it is playing in the background. Definitely a classic.

Such a sweet song. To me, it's about true love, willing to do anything to show how much you love the other person in the relationship.
