You Were Mine Lyrics
I Can't Find A Reason To Let Go
Even Though You've Found A New Love
And She's What Your Dreams Are Made Of
I Can Find A Reason To Hang On
What Went Wrong Can Be Forgiven
Without You, It Ain't Worth Livin' Alone
Chorus:
Sometimes I Wake Up Crying At Night
And Sometimes I Scream Out Your Name
What Right Does She Have To Take You Away
When For So Long, You Were Mine
I Took Out All The Pictures Of Our Wedding Day
It Was A Time Of Love And Laughter
Happy Ever After
But Even Those Old Pictures Have Begun To Fade
Please Tell Me She's Not Real
And That You're Really Coming Home To Stay
Repeat Chorus
I Can Give You Two Good Reasons
To Show You Love's Not Blind
He's Two And She's Four, And You Know They Adore You
So How Can I Tell Them You've Changed Your Mind
Repeat Chorus:
I Remember When You Were Mine
Even Though You've Found A New Love
And She's What Your Dreams Are Made Of
I Can Find A Reason To Hang On
What Went Wrong Can Be Forgiven
Without You, It Ain't Worth Livin' Alone
Sometimes I Wake Up Crying At Night
And Sometimes I Scream Out Your Name
What Right Does She Have To Take You Away
When For So Long, You Were Mine
It Was A Time Of Love And Laughter
Happy Ever After
But Even Those Old Pictures Have Begun To Fade
Please Tell Me She's Not Real
And That You're Really Coming Home To Stay
To Show You Love's Not Blind
He's Two And She's Four, And You Know They Adore You
So How Can I Tell Them You've Changed Your Mind

My favorite Dixie Chicks song. They are so talented. Every time I hear her say "he's two and she's four and you know they adore you," I just want to cry. This song is so great.
i am posting this because this song deserves more than 1 comment. this song is beautiful and was written about the 2 sister's parents from their mom's point of view.
being a guy this song just makes me think.... about how a girl who was completely in love with you would feel if you left.
I cry when I hear this song. It's so depressing. sigh
the two sisters wrote this when they found out about their parents getting divorced.....they wrote it like they were in the place of their mother
I'm with you sharpasasp00n - that line makes me want to cry too! It makes the situation seem real.
i personally think this is one, if not best, dixie chick song. i am a huge fan, but this song really sticks out.
like everyone else, it also hits me hard at the two and four part. there's not many songs out there for mothers who've lost the love of their life.
Big Kudos to the chicks!
This song is great...plus it hits me really hard at the 2 and 4 part, as those were the ages of me and my brother when my parents split.
This song is very beautiful, yet depressing. The two and four part hits me hard as well.
"i remember when you were mine" that line hits me the most! i guess some wounds take longer to heal than others its a beautidull song! i just love it!
lol i guess im another person who loves the 2 and 4 part. i LOVE this song soooo much. its so sad. "how can i tell them that you changed your mind?" that part makes me cry. cuz u cant be in love and then all of a sudden change your mind... it just makes sense that its not something u can just change ur mind about... and yet ppl do all the time.... the last line is just about my favorite.... i mean who cant relate to that line??
