How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? Lyrics
Was everything a man could want to do
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, no one said a word about the sorrow
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again
I love this song. There's another Al Green song that I always get it mixed up with because the intro sounds alike, but I love the song regardless.
This is fucking soul man! Damn this song is cool!
Simple heart achingly beautiful song. I think I first heard this in Ally McBeal (really!!)
This is my favorite cover and...ultimate recording of this song...when Al Green sang this, you can feel the emotion and soul that's going into this song. A lot of artists have tried to sing it like him...but, there's no comparison. I first heard this song on an iTunes Celebrity Playlist...I believe, Nikki Reed--maybe. But, I heard this song, and I was going through a similar experience when I first heard it...and I bought all of his songs! I love listening to him at night-when I'm falling asleep.
Yea I agree with fhcxc2010, this is probrably the greatest recording of this song. Al Green sang it with more sentiment, way better than the Bee Gees in my opinion.
The Bee Gees original sounds awful compared to this version. The Bee Gees wrote amazing songs but couldn't really sing. Al Green puts the emotion into this and it is one of the best love songs ever.
