Guns In The Sky Lyrics
See the sound
It crashes in, all around
It get's in
Now take your hands and raise them up
Into the air that's all around ya
Now bring 'em down
Like a clock at two
Shake your head
You know what to do
They wanna put guns in the sky
Someone out there aint gonna like it
But it could be good
Make us love each other
Have to realise I own the future
Guns in the sky
Guns in the sky
Guns in the sky
Guns in the sky
Guns in the sky
Child grows up to see guns in the sky
Used to be on T.V
Wanna change, forgot the joke
It's great to see you
I'm running late, da da da
Love your hair, da da da
Lend me a ten, da da da
Love your big house, da da da
Could you spare a dime
Well I'm sick of it, it's a load of shit
We could stop the world and let of all the fools
And let them go live with their guns in the sky
Guns in the sky, guns in the sky, guns in the sky
Guns in the sky, guns in the sky, guns in the sky
I cannot believe no one has commented on this song yet! I LOVE it! Definately one of my favourites!
This song is about the SDI project (now likely defunct, and also nicknamed StarWarsproject), Strategic Defense Initiative. The United State planned to put lasers in space to defend itself from Soviet ICBM strike, hence Guns in the Sky. Hutchence seems against it LOL. The guitars and drums fit in perfectly with the lyrics, with a hydraulic, explosive type of rythm. When Hutchence refers to clock at two, he's referring to the peace sign with two fingers. That's enough of a clue.
A noisy song with quite subtle ambivalence about the way things are going...
I love this song, but wtf is with that 'love your hair' and whatnot bit? It makes me laugh every time I hear it.
Makes me laugh too! I thought the lyrics "DA DA DA! LOVE YOUR HAIR!" were quite off the wall. :D

I wonder what the "guns in the sky" refer to?
OH MY GOD HES GOT NO PANTS ON
OH MY GOD HES GOT NO PANTS ON
PS- this song makes me ridiculously happy. Especially when the intro comes in.
