I discovered this song on my Hope Sandoval Pandora station and the lines "but I'll always miss dreaming my dreams with you.." struck me the most. Mainly because my ex partner and I always fantasized about the future together. I always wanted to have him in my future even though we were having some serious issues. It's one of those things that love doesn't allow you to recognize even if it's obvious. I think I am over him now, but I still MISS the comfort feeling of sharing my dreams with him. I miss sharing my plans with him and it really breaks my heart at times. I still cry about it but I have passed it. Just because we grieve about something doesn't mean we are weak, it demonstrates our capacity of how we are able to love others.
I'd like to also add how precious and beautifully touching this song is to me. I wish I was a rockstar sometimes haha.
It's a song about those who choose to live in dream worlds because they don't have the courage to live honestly in the real world. They live short-sighted, superficial lives and will lead them until life makes it no longer feasible. Then they shall live with nothing but stale dreams and regret. So much for free will when one is caged by the fear he has allowed to stifle every aspect of his life.
