Murder In The Skies Lyrics

Time was running out for all on board,
soaring up through the shadows of night.
High above the clouds the engines roared,
this would be their final flight.

The russians have shot down a plane on its way to Korea.
Two hundred and sixtynine innocent victims have died.

Murder in the skies, came without a warning.
Murder in the skies, black September morning.
Murder in the skies.

Time was running out for everyone,
flying over the Sea of Japan.
None would live to see the rising sun,
death was following close at hand.

The russians have shot down a plane on its way to Korea.
Two hundred and sixtynine innocent victims have died.

Murder in the skies, came without a warning.
Murder in the skies, black September morning.
Murder in the skies, came without a warning.
Murder in the skies, black September morning.

Murder in the skies, came without a warning.
Murder in the skies, black September morning.
Murder in the skies, came without a warning.
Murder in the skies, black September morning.

Murder in the skies.
Murder in the skies.

Cover art for Murder In The Skies lyrics by Gary Moore

Oh yeah!!! This song is freaking awesome. HJYEV has already explained the lyrics, but lemme just add this. He literally makes his guitar sound like a plane going down at the end. WTF. Does Gary Moore always do stuff like this? Because if he does I need to start listening to more of his music immediately.

This song is a response by Gary Moore about the Korean Airlines flight 007 that was shot down by the Soviet Union on September 1st 1983 where all 269 passengers on board were killed. This is obvious that he is talking about a plane crash in the lyrics but that is the one he is talking about in particular.
