I believe this song is about a codependent relationship between a younger woman and a older guy. She is so scared to do anything to upset him but is willing to do anything for him. She doesn't care how much it hurts to be in love but she doesn't care because she has never been loved before and doesn't know how to be properly loved and she never will know real love.

I think she's saying that he can do anything he wants to her because as long as he's in her life she doesn't care how much it damages her.

This song actually reminds me of myself. I was friends with this guy and I confessed to him, but after I confessed he started acting differently towards me. He would do some things that made me upset sometimes but I just brushed it off bc I really liked him. He would led me on and only messed with me when he was bored, but I started to not care anymore. I just let him bc I wanted so badly the little bit of attention he was giving me. And these lyrics were like my thoughts. I didn’t care what he was doing even if it hurt me, as long as it was him. But I’m moving on from that :)

I am very confident the meaning is to me at leat being in an abusive relationship and knowing the other person is abusive and treating you like shit but letting them walk all over you " go on and step on me " , " do what you want with me" , " you're free to have everything that you see". Knowing this person is abusive and manipulative but staying in the relationship because you are lonley , have low self esteem and despite the obviously horrible way you are treated you still love the person and are co dependent.

I agree with other people here, but I want to add something. This song can for a person who’s a people pleaser. See when the character talks about them being hurt they say it in a neutral voice that sounds quiet, as if they’re saying it under there breath. Also the chorus “do what you want to do what you to” “go on and step on me” the character doesn’t seem to have an exact mood. And they’re persistent of being okay with being hurt. Also I saw someone say someone like they’ll let the person they’re talking to do anything as if they stay with them. This song could be about a couple or a toxic friendship. They can’t fathom the idea of the person they’re taking to leave them. Okay wow that was a lot. (Yes I’m autistic)

It's about being totally complacent with someone in a relationship, when you give up everything for this person and this person doesn't care in the same intensity (he/she still stepping your your foot).
