It sounds as if either: a. the person is in love with someone who hasn't let their true feelings show concerning them or b. two people are in a relationship and one is unwilling to express themselves to the other's expectations.

From the sounds,to the instruments,to their looks on the vid,there is a 70s touch to it.Sweet..

i love this sooong.. so sweet... i don't think of it like a story but rather describing a feeling.. the music, reminds me of the feeling that you get when you're in love, like floating.. and sweet.. and when she says "carnival came by my town today.." makes me think that you met someone new..and that person makes you feel like in a carnival.. exactly how i feel right now =).. so maybe it's just me...

I listened to this song a lot back in 1995 when I was 12 years old. It brings back a lot of memories. It's such a dreamy and pretty song, but it always sounded kind of sad too. Perhaps the only song that can match it for melancholy beauty is Sean Lennon's "Parachute" song.

I think this song is about someone who is in love with a friend of theirs, and they think the feeling is mutual but the friend never tells them how they feel. So it ends up being an unrequited love on both ends.

This is a cute song and I love her voice and I love the keyboard in it.

I think its about someone feeling trapped in a relationship. All they want to do is go out and see new things but the other person either doesn't want to or won't let them.

for the first time in a long time i have felt so uncontrolably happy and i have this song to thank for that. definately the best cardigans song i think, it has a perfect combination of instruments which is vital but rarely happens. great song

I love how they merged the carnival-esque with their own style. Lyrics are fantastic.I love this band.
