The person in the song, be he man or alien, is returning home presumably from a distant star system. When he reaches home he is shocked to see that his home star has become a black hole and has sucked up his home planet. Now with everyone he knows and loves gone, he decides he will fly his ship into the black hole. He figures he will either die, which seems appealing to him now, or he will discover something on the other side of the black hole, perhaps a new universe where he can start over new.
Some dude's star lives out its life and becomes a black hole, so he decides to jump into it and see what's on the other side...From a scientific point of view, not a very appealing risk. :)
Not to mention that if your star becomes a black hole, you are dead from the supernova explosion. ;)
