it's a song about being young and vulnerable and confused, not quite understanding your life yet but somehow knowing your own strength and believing in that, even if nothing seems like it is working or will work out.
this is my favorite song ever. i genuinely feel like anyone who knows this song knows an essential part of who i am as a person. i don't quite understand why i feel such an affinity for this song, but i do, and i love it.

holy shit. I've never heard anything by this band but I love American Football, Owen, etc and thought I'd check out another Kinsella band (I know it's not the same one) and these lyrics totally blew me away. amazing.

"Everyone is my friend" is a typical inocence way of thinking about others and even life. So this song is basically about the discovery of our own innocence, its dangers and harms. But in the end, in an act of corage, deciding to keep it, in its best features, alive in our hearts. So, after all, we hope "May we all make home safely"... even if we try the inocence dangerous road.
The last line "It's not impossible to think of you thinking of me" is about remembering someone who breaks our loyalty, our love or whatever, showed us this harm of the inocence, but then decide to still love it and constantly asks if she/he still thinks about us. An act of love, even corage, or, for nowadays way o thinking, inocence.
