Lovely Head Lyrics
It starts in my belly
Then up to my heart
Into my mouth I can’t keep it shut
Do you recognize the smell
Is that how you tell
Us apart
I fool myself
To sleep and dream
Nobody’s there
No-one but me
So cool
You’re hardly there
Why can’t this be killing you
Frankenstein would want your mind
You lovely head
You lovely head
Then up to my heart
Into my mouth I can’t keep it shut
Do you recognize the smell
Is that how you tell
Us apart
I fool myself
To sleep and dream
Nobody’s there
No-one but me
So cool
You’re hardly there
Why can’t this be killing you
Frankenstein would want your mind
You lovely head
You lovely head

No, everything else they did is pretty MOR, but this stands head and shoulders above that lot. This song is amazing. Simply a song of being in love with someone and them not feeling the same and what a fantastic way to put it at the end - "Frankenstein would want your mind, your lovely head". A delightfully gallows humoured remark.
I've got to say, I'm not a Goldfrapp fan, but this song really gives me goosebumps. The melody is just incredible, spooky and soothing at the same time. What an original piece of music..
The parts between the lyrics is actually her voice going through a synthesizer. It's pretty cool, and if you haven't seen this song live, check it out on youtube.

You know i alway though she says mojo instead of mind.
Probably considered too middle of the road these days, beautiful song though. One of those ones that sounds familiar the first time you hear it. Conjours up lots of images.

Mind-blowing... sigh

Monkey Dust is awesome! So is Felt Mountain, the album this is taken from.
There's a really sinister aspect to this song... almost like she's scientist discovering a new weird disease and trying to find the perfect cure. Or maybe that's just me..
