All Right Now Lyrics

There she stood in the street
Smiling from her head to her feet
I said "Hey, what is this"
Now baby, maybe she's in need of a kiss
I said " Hey, what's your name baby"
maybe we can see things the same
Now don't you wait or hesitate
Let's move before they raise the parking rent

All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now

I took her home to my place
Watching ev'ry move on her face
She said " Look, what's your game baby
are you tryin' to put me in shame?"
I said " slow don't go so fast,
don't you think that love can last?"
She said " Love, Lord above,
now you're tryin' to trick me in love"

All right now baby, it's all right now
all right now baby, it's all right now

That's all for now, take care and I'll
be back with more in a few days

I always heard that they aren't singing "Parking Rate" but rather "Fucking Rent."

@Eelsrule ME TOO!!!!

@Eelsrule - I even SANG it that way. Hell, I KEPT singing it that way. Bet Paul Rodgers has too.

This song was written in like ten minutes after a concert when the band members noticed that barely anybody had clapped for them because their songs were all so mellow.

The song is about a dude that picks up a girl on the street and takes her home for sex

Maybe a sandwish too?

@i8luigi It's weird that that was the case, since Free wasn't exactly "mellow", but I guess "rocker" was used (by "Free/Bad Co." drummer Simon Kirk) as an adjective for "up tempo". Also, points for not calling her a prostitute.

the placement of this song in american beauty, which i bought, was perfect.

anyway, the songs seems to just be about picking up a prostitute, and trying instead of having a one-night-stand to try and keep a steady relationship w/ her. very cool song i think.

@figbasher \r\n\r\nExactly.

I agree w/Error. I love to sing this song, it makes my jaws hurt, you get to scream so much. I turn the sound up as loud as it will go so I can shout as loud as I can!!

Did anybody else see the Sopranos when they used this song in one of the episodes. They used it so well and it just added so much to the scene.

I thought she said "Lok,what's your game baby,are you trying to put me in chains"...guess not. Got to my hearing checked.

Besides just being a great tune, I love the story, at least what I think the story is. He wants to have sex with her and takes her home, she questions his intentions, he talks about love with her and she calls his BS, knowing all he wants is sex.

The song meaning's already been established. But why was she standing in the middle of the freaking street? (And, no, she wasn't a pro. Cripes.)
