No Sugar Tonight Lyrics
Lonely feeling deep inside
Find a corner where I can hide
Silent footsteps crowding me
Sudden darkness but I can see
No sugar tonight in my coffee
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me
(Dat’n-doo-dow-dow-dat’n-doo-dow...)
In the silence of her mind
Quiet movements where I can find
Grabbing for me with her eyes
Now I’m falling from her skies
No sugar tonight in my coffee
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me
(Dat’n-doo-dow-dow-dat’n-doo-dow...)
Find a corner where I can hide
Silent footsteps crowding me
Sudden darkness but I can see
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me
Quiet movements where I can find
Grabbing for me with her eyes
Now I’m falling from her skies
No sugar tonight in my tea
No sugar to stand beside me
No sugar to run with me

it's pretty good..not my fav though. i still prefer undun.
at the end of the dual song, when they're doing the "da da da" thing, if you listen closely you can hear a guy speaking saying "mother... nature... sugar... sugar... sugar... "
Anywhom, this song is about loneliness and not having your "sugar" or gf/bf to "stand beside me" and "run with me"
The lyrics are interesting tho, because they are hard to understand, almost like a paradox: "Silent footsteps crowding me" "Grabbing for me with her eyes" - which just makes the song even deeper
i first downloaded this thinking it was a grand funk song.. i loved it and downloaded more from the guess who, but the other songs are very lame.. like laughing and stuff like that.. does anyone have any recomendation? of songs that sounds more like no sugar tonight

I totally agree that there are the songs like Laughing and Undun that don't have the same feeling as No Sugar Tonight.

This song is very good, I like it my fav GW song
The guitar intro and then the guitar with the drums, that's the coolest thing about this song!
obviously this is a medley with New Mother Nature...there's no argument with that.
It's about being alone, and knowing what you miss.
This is one of my favorite Guess who songs. It's an excellent tune!
To me this song is clearly about a cocaine, (sugar) addiction. The lyric, "now I'm falling from her skies", is a blatant metaphor for crashing from a coke high. The song just would not make sense if it was about a girl.
@jhalmeida i have to agree with you after carefully reading the lyrics. I am a guitar player and simply copied the lyrics to learn the song and began looking at it closely. Also do you think that the "corner basement" might be the place where the person could commit suicide with his "bag of goodies and Bottle of wine?" Just speculating.

i definately agree with jhalmeida. i think it's pretty clear that this song is not about a girl, but rather the devil's danfruff, the white lady, booger sugar, coke. in any instance, this is a tight groove. going from No Sugar Tonight into the New Mother Nature. good stuff
It refers to cocaine, or the lack of it "a bag of goodies and a bottle of wine, were going to get it on right tongith" "falling from her skies" its a bout a coke high.
