no it's actually about the different music managers and promoters he deals with on the road. The dudes are always trying to carry his guitar and open the door for him...he knows they are insinsere, and later he compares them to cigarette girls...pretty funny.
This song always kind of reminded me of Holden Caufield. Great song about people being nice to you in an insincere way.
I always loved the line about being able to "work the handle on any car; it's really not that hard." Juliana Hatfield ruins the ending of it -- wish Dando hadn't made the decision to include her high-pitched grating voice -- but the rest of the song is melodically nice.
