Three Dimensions Lyrics

You're not the first to think
That everything has been thought before
I spoke to an echo and he said
"I'm not satisfied i want something more"

'Cause i am bored with three dimensions
I'm in love with three dimensions
And if i listen to the seconds
Reminds me of echolalia

What now, fragments are found
In the mess and in the sound

Repeat chorus

You're not the first to think

Repeat chorus

this is a good song and SMK rock!! This song tells the story of a iddle aged guy (about 25 i think) who has been in the same job for like 5years and is debating whether to leave it in search of a new exciting life. But my song interpretations are always deeper (or drasticly different) from most peoples.

I really like this song! I think it is about not being content with life and always searching for something more. And it's SFK dude

just bored with the world in general....this is one of those songs that can mean whatever you want it too.

Haven't you ever had that weird feeling as if everything you've done has been done by someone else? It's about a person trapped within the realm of limited world, and is seeking to read different meaning. It's weird, that makes it a recursive loop for me. If he's trying to do something different, surely, wouldn't s/he think "why to bother? its been done before!"*.

Nonetheless, it's a great song. I just love the last two minutes of it.

*I cannot be held responsible for the emotional trauma caused by trying to decypher the recursive loop.

great song anout being apathetic towards life and wanting more but not knowing what you want...

i agree with the above comments, that's the gist of the song.

but i think it's funny that he should say that he's simultaneously "bored with" and "in love with" this mundane, limited world of which he speaks..

maybe he admits that he's bored with it, but loves it because he isn't able to spread his wings - put himself out there, risking failure, embarrassment, disappointment & breaking out of his safe routine..

Im a wannabe musician myself, and when you're trying to write songs, you can sometimes find that everything you write sounds like another song. And Dempsey had writers block in writing this album (which he states is the topic of monsters, his monsters being writers block).. this makes me think he's written a song.. about everything sounding like another song, and i think the irony of it is totally genius.

Of course everything could just be taken as people being bored of life as there is nothing left to discover, like explorers have nowhere to go. But personally.. when i heard this song.. i was instantly like "fucking oath Demps!".

Then i heard "Echo" by incubus, released around the same time. Quite amusing :)
