I'm A Believer Lyrics
I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all my dreams
Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
I thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I gave, the less I got
What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I needed sunshine, I got rain
Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all my dreams
Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
Seems the more I gave, the less I got
What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I needed sunshine, I got rain
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried

Brilliant song. Shame it had to be ruined in Shrek
I've learned of it from Shriek, just only now that I knew it was The Monkees original song and then by 1967 was covered by Neil.. his voice is really awesome.
Neil Diamond wrote this song. The Monkees covered it and it became Neil's first hit song. Kind of like how "Leaving on a Jet Plane" was a hit for Peter, Paul, and Mary, but was written by John Denver and was his first hit song.

Let's not forget that it was actually written by ND. Cheers, all!
