War Inside My Head Lyrics
Napalm showers
Showed the cowards
We weren't there to mess around
Though heat exhaustion
And mind distortion
A military victory mounted on innocent ground
Hearing voices from miles away
Saying things never said
Seeing shadows in the light of the day
Waging a war inside my head
Years and years of
Bloodshed and warfare
Our mission was only to get in and kill
A free vacation
Of palmtrees and shrapnel
Trading innocence for permanent psychotic hell
Hearing voices from miles away
Saying things never said
Seeing shadows in the light of the day
Waging a war inside my head
Feeling strangers staring my way
Reading minds never read
Tasting danger with each word I say
Waging the war inside my head
Showed the cowards
We weren't there to mess around
And mind distortion
A military victory mounted on innocent ground
Saying things never said
Seeing shadows in the light of the day
Waging a war inside my head
Bloodshed and warfare
Our mission was only to get in and kill
Of palmtrees and shrapnel
Trading innocence for permanent psychotic hell
Saying things never said
Seeing shadows in the light of the day
Waging a war inside my head
Reading minds never read
Tasting danger with each word I say
Waging the war inside my head

This song apparently tells about a(/the) soldier in the vietnam war. It tells about the psychologigal problems the man faces after years of combat in the rain forests, fighting for his life, his only mission to kill the enemy.
Kinda like the movie "Taxi Driver" Pornoy's a big fan of Scorsese films!
The song sort of reminds me of Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Both great songs.
WRONG!!! Metallica sucks tho the max. I havn't really listened to the whole 6DOIT album but I heard this song for the first time on the Live At Budokon dvd.
Everytime I hear this, it reminds me of my Grandfather in WWII. He wasn't on the frontline yet he suffered the same pyschologicial effectss as soldiers after the war.
Dream Theatre covered the whole Master of Puppet's album during a live show so you can hardly say they suck in a Dream Theatre lyrics discussion lol.
Anyways I agree with the first post :-) Good song
SHELLSHOCK!
More accurately, post-traumatic stress disorder. Many soldiers come back from wars very paranoid, even stuff like fireworks or loud bangs can make them have a flashback.
this is my favourite part of the six degrees
yes i agree
yes i agree
The intro has like a Slayer(South Of Heaven) feel to it.
Were learning Vietnam in history and when i sit in class this song just runs through my head.
this song haunts me alot, cuz i've heard many stories about soldiers experiencing shellshock, and that makes me not wanna go to war
