Well this songs basically about a guy who woke up one morning, everything was going fine for him. He wakes up, everythings screwed up around him. Hes basically wanted by the court system (hes on the run from the law). He stammers on, how about what his crime was for nothing it was meaningless. Hidden in the line: I took YOUR SOUL THIS DAY! Is the fact that he assasinated a high government offical out of a religious fervor. He basically finds his girlfriend, who he leaves. And he runs and is finally caught. The last 4 lines describe his lethal injection... (Why the medicine took my life on down).
