Bad Time Lyrics
I'm in love with the girl I can't live without.
I'm in love but I sure picked a bad time ...
To be in love, to be in love.
I don't want to know about it.
There's too many others that know what I mean,
And, that's why I got to live without it.
I'm in love with the girl I can't live without.
I'm in love but I feel like I'm wearin' it out,
I'm in love but I must have picked a bad time ...
To be in love, a bad time to be in love,
A bad time to be in love, A bad time to be in love.
From my friends and the people that I don't want to see.
The things you say I know just couldn't be true,
At least not until I hear them from you.
I'm in love with the girl I can't live without.
I'm in love but I feel like I'm wearin' it out,
I'm in love but I must have picked a bad time ...
To be in love, a bad time to be in love,
A bad time to be in love, a bad time to be in love.
I'm in love with the girl I can't live without.
I'm in love but I feel like I'm wearin' it out,
I'm in love but I must have picked a bad time ...
To be in love, a bad time to be in love,
A bad time to be in love, a bad time to be in love.

While in concert, Guns N' Roses frontman, Axl Rose would sing a prelude to Sweet Child O' Mine...it went a lil' sumptin like this:
"Sail Away Sweet Sister, Sail across the sea, Maybe you'll find somebody, who'll love you half as much as me. My heart is always with you, no matter what you do, So sail away sweet sister, I'll always be in love with you.
But let her be somebody else's queen I don't want to know about you Cuz too many others know what I mean And that's why I got to live without you
I'm in love with a girl Been talkin' about I'm in love with a girl That I can't live without I'm in love but it feels like I'm livin' it out I'm in love but I must have picked a bad time To be in love"
combo of both Bad Time (this) and Sail Away Sweet Sister by Queen. Brilliant.

written by Mark Farner while going through a bad time with his 1st wife Cheryl. He said on a radio show (Paul & Ron Big 105)that he wrote it literally while she was throwing dishes at him. You can play the interview on Mark's official site.

Mark Farner wrote this song when seperating from his wife at the time.

It's a good song when in its original version by Grand Funk Railroad but nothing more than that. Just kinda good. But when sang by Axl Rose as an introduction to live versions of SCOM it becomes absolutely amazing. And the lyrics fit perfectly in Mr. Rose attitude when singin it. \m/ As said by campjer, BRILLIANT.

Good lyrics. Clear and well-expressed.

Even though I clearly knew it was about Mark Farner separating from his wife. And yet I could help but think of pedophilia when I hear the lyric:
"Cause I still love the little girl, i'm talking about"
Then later on explaining that they picked a bad time to be in love. I hate how I totally perverted a song I love so much. Still great song
gotcha, I see how it could be taken that way. They were both early 20's when he wrote this so I guess to him she was a "little girl". The saying "little girl" seemed to be used alot in the 70's & 80"s, Lynard Skynard, 38 Special etc. Nowadays it wouldn't be acceptable.
