Last Waltz Lyrics

Make me blind
Cover my eyes you can do what you want
I'm paralyzed by the perfect mood
When we're dancing with blindfolds on
You make it easy to love you and hate you
I can't xplane it I feel insecure
You say it's simple
"You die just to live again"
You say we're waiting for the last waltz
Another you and me
Another revolutionary heavenly romance
waiting for the last waltz
And so it seems
We won't find the solution
confusion leads the dance
We're waiting for the last waltz
Praise the wine.
So divine and it stings like a rose.
Allow the night to flow inside open the window
and let the wind blow.
Highlight of the night is the unhappy endind.
You keep refusing to answer my calls.
Drop the bending and stop the pretending.
You say get ready for the last waltz.
I believe that no one this world has the answers for me.
But still I hope that someone has heard.

I was just listening to this song and something sprung out at me. I keep thinking about that scene in the movie Inception where Mal jumps, the insistence that this isn't really real.

I think the key to this song may the lines:

"You say: 'It's simple: we die just to live again' You say: 'We're waiting for the last waltz' "

If we look at those lines and place them in the broader context of the song, it could suggest something like the person this song is sung to (the "you") believes that we keep on living lives over and over again, waiting for the final life (last waltz) that will finally be... good enough? The end of the revolutions?

Or, alternatively, the "you" in the song believes that love is like a phoenixes life cycle, "we die just to live again", that relationships, too, must die and then be revived to die again and so on, so she "kills" the relationship ("highlight of the night is the unhappy ending...") until it can be... perfect? something... which would be the "last waltz", the last time they'd have to go through the relationship.

:BTW, I think the chorus should be:

"And so it seems we won't find resolution Confusion leads the dance..."

I think this is about a rocky relationship...like lust over love or something.

one word! CONFUSION!

i have a thing for the melody of this sing...it has this depressing tone. ANYWAY...

i think this song talks about a relationship reaching its end on the girl's side. this relationship is metaphorically portrayed as a waltz. At a dance, the last waltz is the VERY VERY LAST dance at the END of the dance, the closing for the evening. i suppose that in her point of view, she realizes that this relationship that was once beautiful (all the other romance that they had before this last waltz) is coming to a close on her part. she doesn't like him anymore and he's starting to feel it. his feeling haven't faded yet, and he 's getting insecure about her affections for him. She's trying to make the end something nice, like the last waltz, but it is all in all, still The End of their relationship.
