I really love the lightning seeds
if you listen to the lyrics, you can see there is some hidden meaning behind them, even if you just thought they sounded cool.
whoever wrote these songs is a genius. if you listen to any modern-day song, often you will find they are just a group of words jumbled together so that they rhyme, and some dont rhyme at all, but with the lightning seeds its different. its so poetic, and yet so enjoyable to listen to.
Maybe its just me, because i grew up listening to this band.

@bazmeg Fast forward to 2020 and now artists don't even bother making stuff rhyme or even use words. Why bother? They literally just go na na na na nana na and the kids go download it.

But reading through some of the Lightning Seeds lyrics you echoed my thoughts because I thought "Some of this is poetry. Broudie was a genius and nobody noticed"

love that. this song is all about giving into living life like that... so beautifully whimsical and yet, so serious.

The most profound and beautiful thing ever said in a song.
The segue from first chorus to second verse when the bass returns to settled story-telling... absolute magic- communicating that everything will be OK
this is an amazing song.
I also think this song is about a baby or pet, definitely unconditional love... It's beautiful and makes me teary-eyed every time I listen to it.
It is a song of integrity, of returning to 'nature' in its simplest and most pleasurable forms; of not letting one's morality become embroiled in the contemporary machinations of capitalism; of remembering that there are indeed 'purer' moments in life which we should cherish and always return to when we can. To me, it is a song reminding us of what it means to be human.
Underrated excellent song. In a world where songs like the 'Frog Song' and 'Gang num style' are ridiculous successes, the good stuff gets the shadows.
Exactly - I just found a best of CD in my mums "collection" (more of a lineup of criminals against music, except the odd innocents), and.... meh. I like this song.
