Mouth Lyrics

I feel like I've been blown apart.
There are pieces here --
I don't know where they go.
I don't know where they go.
Kiss me on my salty lips;
Bet you feel a little crazy, but for me.
We'll be famous on TV.

Would it be my fault if I could turn you on?
Would I be so bad if I could turn you on?
When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

I jump on you -- you jump on me.
You push me out,
and even though you know I love you,
I'd be inclined to slap you in the mouth.
When I kiss your salty lips,
you will feel a little crazy, but for me.
I'll be famous on TV.

Would it be my fault if I could turn you on?
Would I be so bad if I could turn you on?
When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

Would it be my fault if I could turn you on?
Would I be so bad if I could turn you on?
When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

Now will it be my fault
if I take your love and throw it wide?
You might restrain me.
But, could you really blame me?
You will feel you're blown apart.
All the pieces there will fit to make you whole,
and I know where they go.

Would it be my fault if I could turn you on?
Would I be so bad if I could turn you on?
When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

When I kiss your mouth,
I wanna taste it.
Turn you upside down --
don't wanna waste it.

If anyone here did the hard research (looking it up on wikipedia) you'll see that there was no intentional sexual connotation.

Bainbridge stated that "(Any sexuality on "Mouth" was) not deliberate - it was definitely not a sexual song. It's just honest - about a relationship, how you feel in a relationship. Sometimes you feel you're in control and the next thing, you're insecure - it's the role playing thing. To me, it's not about straight up sexuality. It doesn't bother me if people connect with that, because obviously it's there, but it wasn't something I was aware of"

@schonenberg But I would add that they sexual connotation probably helped it sell and be popular. And it's hard to say if it's intentional.

But otoh I think it's a difference in symbolism of language used in australia versus the usa.

i kind of agree with rainethbow, but i think its about her being a lesbian "Would it be my fault if I could turn you on? Would I be so bad if I could turn you on?" "I wanna taste it. Turn you upside down -- don't wanna waste it." "if I take your love and throw it wide? "

if u look at the song as if she's a lesbian then certian phrases make a lot of sense.

it really is a good song and i dont mean to sound vulgar , but thats what i think of it.

the whole lesbian thing makes way too much sense...

@megn412 Yeah but except the fact there is a guy in her video.

Cover art for Mouth lyrics by Merril Bainbridge

yeah i agree, it probably is about lesbian 69ing

This is my friends flirtin song X.x

Cover art for Mouth lyrics by Merril Bainbridge

this being about a lesbian experience doesn't make sense in the context of her having salty lips. guys taste salty, girls don't.

@nodoublingback It does if she\'s taking about a woman who just had sec with a man and she wants to taste his "saltiness" on her. It also works of she\'s talking to a gay guy. She\'s definitely talking to someone not normally turned on by women.
