Blue Tag Lyrics
i'm an incision
the kind that glistens
and not to mention we appeal
when we've healed
i'm an incision, just an incision
i've got polaroid value
in a celluloid way
with twelve hard years of currency
and they trade it all
for the current scene
i'm an incision
the kind that glistens
polaroid value
celluloid way
this air condition
is on intermission
we're burning on the border
like they said that we would
i'm an incision, just an incision
the kind that glistens
and we appeal when we've healed
burning on the borders like they said that we would
with twelve hard years of currency
and they trade it all for the current scene
they're partial to the way you speak
blue tagged, blue tagged and incomplete
burning on the borders like they said that we would
the kind that glistens
and not to mention we appeal
when we've healed
i'm an incision, just an incision
i've got polaroid value

and they trade it all
for the current scene

Hmm I'm thinking its about people who save up all their money for plastic surgery. We appeal when we've healed...see?
i totally agree, and the "i'm an incision, just an incision i've got polaroid value in a celluloid way" thing supports it further.
this is a long shot, but "burning on the borders like we said we would", like quarreling middle easten countrys?, iraq-iran conflict or something to that effect, and "with 12 hard years of currency, we trade it all for the current scene", the government ignoring the peoples needs and spending all tax money on armed forces.
The song clearly represents people trading their hard earned cash for a better lookin appearance but i also think the "burning on the border like we said that we would", is kind of the southern texas belief (just assuming)....that fat is always just fat no matter how you tuck it in and make it look..
yep deffinetly about plastic surgery but is he saying theres twelve on you at the beginning
i see what you mean lonsdale london and he could be talking about both the midlle eastern conflict and plastic surgery and stuff. the main thing about cedrics lyrics is he likes the listener to interpret them however they feel they should.
I love how ATDI songs look one way on the surface but if looked at deeply have a strong message. Like in Give it a Name and Enfilade. I'm just gonna say this particular song is about plastic surgery, plain and simple. And after reading it a couple more times, I've got an idea of where the song gets its name. Blue Tag=1st Place at a fair or other event. And the burning of the borders is perhaps referring to the fact that the sought after eternal youth/beauty techniques are constantly changing OR that the effects are only temporary. Also, I love the way the song begins with Cedric singing to himself with instruments warming up in the background, it reminds me of The Beatles. That was a mouthful, no pun intended.
The intro to this song always reminded me of Teenage Riot from Sonic Youth...I'd say I like this song better, because it doesn't just drag like TR. Both songs are good, I prefer Blue Tag, though.
