Hourglass Lyrics

sucks me in, taking a ride
and i'm wishing for the satellite
grabbing vein pulling down on the radio
laughing at the face that's bending down

i'm all alone so far up here
and my oxygen's all gone

bend the metal
my glory box has failed
we're rocking in our reclining chairs
drive away that car
that brought us all this harm
those are the pieces of my story line

i'm all alone so far up here
and my oxygen's all gone

truly stressing realization
i wish i was an astronaut
eight hour bitterness all for whose sake
stain glass sunday school charades

I think it's about loneliness. I'm sure about the details (sometimes I get a dying astronaut, sometimes I get a kid who's in trouble at school), but it's about being lonely and desperate -- yet sort of resigning yourself to it.

I think this song is more about alienation from those around you and maybe wishing that you were an astronaut so you had an excuse to get away from the world for a while. Just a song about being fed up with people.

thank you obviously his feelings are being compared to one of an astronauts but he is not just seeing about the fucking russian space programs failures i think its about the feeelings felt from withdrawing from heroin

this song is about heroin. when you do heroin, your breathing rate slows down incredibly making it feel like your "oxygen's all gone" because you breathe like twice a minute. "so far up here" = high. when you dose, you nod off into your own little world.

cedric and omar used to do lots of crack and heroin.

for fucks sake thank you

I agree with the whole k hole thing. I was thinking it was about some kind of drug but that specific one seems to make the most sense. The viewpoint that the song is about a waisted life also seems to fit pretty well. Very abstract indeed.

The hourglass, the bottom part of the bottom glass is earth the skinny part is the small window in the atmosphere, and the top part is space. Ya see?

this song is one of my favorites off in/casino/out. i really enjoy it when cedric puts piano in their songs, it permeates quite nicely with the rest of the music and with the vocals. buy relationship of command it will better your life
