The constellation Ursa Minor contains the group of stars commonly called the Little Dipper. The handle of the Dipper is the Little Bear's tail and the Dipper's cup is the Bear's flank. The Little Dipper is not a constellation itself, but an asterism, which is a distinctive group of stars. Another famous asterism is the Big Dipper in the constellation Ursa Major.

The most famous star in Ursa Minor is Polaris, the North Star. This is the star that is nearest to the North Celestial Pole. If you stood at the north pole, Polaris would be almost directly overhead. If you can spot Polaris in the sky, you can always tell which way is north. In addition, the angle of Polaris above the horizon tells you your latitude on the Earth. Because of this, Polaris was the most important star for navigating at sea. [...]

Thats interesting and it does make reference to a towel. For those of you who know about Hitchhikers Guide youll get that. At my school we have a towel day and only about 3 nerds bring em in but its still cool.

The first line, "sting around the wallet itch," implies some kind of greediness, which makes me think of a group or country that totally oppresses or uses or exterminates another for their own economic gain. The line, "skip with elbowed sobs your palms were soaking wet parched in the stupor," gives an image of someone who is happy pushing others out of the way who may be crying, such as those victims of imperialism.

"permission to land" and "second native" give the implications of someone coming out of no where to control these total strangers, such as the colonists in America and the native Americans.

Although holyzarquon explained that the name means little bear, maybe it has something to do with Russia. You know the reference to the Russian Bear. It talks a lot about dying during sleep, maybe it is about Chernobyl or some disaster like that. Or maybe some country like Afganistan that Russian attempted to take over and turn into a little bear.

Those are just some ideas.

i think its about some group of people or soemthing taking over other people and controlling them and stuff.... maybe its about aliens taking over i dunno thats just me=)

I think the only vocals Jim does on his own in this song are the,"So I guess this is goodnight" and,"No vents open/All settlements new/A second native/For deserved growth." I do think it is definitely Cedric singing the,"Snake charmer..." and "Make them itch..." as well as the,"500 times."

this song is partially about death the whole band apparently had loads loads of close friends who died when they were growing up "inertia kisses those around me"

it is also well known that this song is the pinpoint where bands ripped off atdi to make EMO music its the first song to have that kind of instant change from vibe to vibe which so many bands tried to recreate atdi shit on any band that has ever been dubbed emo or whatever because they created everything and just like nirvana changed the face of music for good
