I think its about sex and how it makes him dizzy, perhaps violent sex (hit-me)

I can't be sure either, "cupola" means many things.

But I think too much, so here's my take on it.

He's in love with a woman he can't trust, and she can't trust him. Of course it's sexual, all romance is sexual. He's going insane, she's going insane. They need to be close and can't bear it at the same time.

Maybe cupola is some.. sexual reference, because it can be... sort of like a penis or like a breast in appearance, but it can also mean a place built for observation. So... It could just means he sees everything, he sees his mistakes and can't stop himself.

He pushes her to see if she'll push back. This song is about that agony of waiting to see if the other will keep pushing, seeing if the other needs them too. Inability to believe the reality that he can be loved by her.

It's definitely not about a woman or sex.

It's about something feeling good. in, under the skin. filtering through his mind. thats the desire portion of something, likely a drug. when he gets it, hes anxious, shaking like a leaf. theres a small reference to meth in glass. rooms spinning, losing balance.. addiction withdrawal.. or how nothing matters until you get it. sort of like how in movies they'll blur things up until the point in time where they want to show you whats happening.

cupola has a lot of meanings. in this sense it could mean the shape of a dome, like a pipe.

after that its all "hit me, hit my nerves" pretty obvious there.

dawn of a new day... will he quit? then after, is this all you have to say? not sure on this one.. but you do hear junkies talk about quitting all the time but never do. then right after, its hit me, hit my nerves again.
