Perhaps the song is saying that Chagrin Falls, Ohio is a pretty crappy place...Although love the drum work in this tune
@Drink_and_Fight the town is actually amazing. It’s super beautiful and filled with circa homes and buildings. It’s like the most beautiful small town america. It is on top of waterfalls and is surrounded by county parks and rivers. The homes are like perfect Victorians and filled with wine bars and restaurants and quaint shops.

Apparently, this song is a veiled slam at Clear Channel radio. Chagrin Falls, Ohio is apparently where the home office of that hellish company.

This song is about a man who has an affair while travelling (most likely on business). It seems both parties may have been travelling to this place. He comes home to his marriage, feels he must tell his wife, and she leaves. He has regret (chagrin) come over him, slowly and steadily, like maddening droplets.
Heres my take. A guy has an affair while traveling and immediately regrets it. Chagrin - despair and humiliation. He goes home and his wife knows, or possibly he tells her. More chagrin. Therrs no fighting or yelling or fireworks. Her world turns upside down and she leaves him. They both feel distressed and humiliated. So falls Chagrin Falls.
