okay, so i'm going to analyze this song by how i interpret it based on my own opinion and experience..here goes...

"There is nothing for which I am responsible Just this baggage that I keep carrying on as if I had someone" -it feels like he's got no purpose because it's just him all alone and he's got no one to take care of. he sometimes gets sad and depressed as if he had someone to get depressed over but he doesn't.

"Ok, maybe there is a woman somewhere Who's still thinking of me Or a girl with coal black hair Who's haunted in her dreams But what they've seen, well, it wasn't me It was just some lie that they slept beside I kept this from them but I can't keep this from you" -there might be someone somewhere he's been with that misses him and misses being with him, but the person they were with wasn't really him. he could hide himself from those women but he can't hide himself from this one person.

"So will you look for me in that strange, bright place Where the statues bloom in the park? They don't need no rain" -personally i would see this kind of as that place in her head where she goes to get away from everything and just think of her happiest, most desirable dreams. it's like he's asking if she'll be thinking of him in this wonderful way.

"Because how I ever got to you, I have no idea It's like some secret door, well, it just appeared So, no matter what I do from now on with my time You will always stay here in my mind I am certain of this and I am not certain of anything" -it's like he's saying i don't know how i was even lucky enough to meet you. the fact i had the chance to even be with you was amazing, and i'm not certain of much but i know i'll never forget you.

"So I want to get myself attached to something bolted down So that these winds of circumstance won't keep blowing me around To when I land to when I leave there is enough time to sleep and sing I keep running when all I want is to lay motionless" -even though i loved you, things were too unstable and got really rocky at times. i'd like something constant, someone that will always be there for me to spend my time with. i just want to relax and be in love.

I think he left his lover so that he wouldn't have to be responsible. After he left he realized how much he loved her and how much he gave to her but he can't take what he did back so he carries the baggage of her memory around with him.

This song is so well written and performed. I love the lyrics, they seem so simple but you can feel all the emotions as connor sings it. Where the statues bloom in the park. They don't need no rain.

i dont know why i care so much, but i absolutely love it when titles of songs arent just taken directly from the chorus or the lyrics of the song. when i read the last line of this song and then think about the title, its just like, damn, thats a good way of summing up the song into a good title.
