We'll Go Too Lyrics
to boldly clap in a room full of nothing
you never know, it could be one of those
poignant evenings
museum's locked and it's long since past closing,
you cannot know, you cannot not know,
what you're knowing
what can you do
they're all gone and
we'll go too
the curtain climbs
over me every morning
I don't know why I'm so immunized against reforming
to coldly slap at a face full of nothing,
you never know it could've been one of those looks of longing
what can you do
they're all gone and we'll go too
you never know, it could be one of those
poignant evenings
museum's locked and it's long since past closing,
you cannot know, you cannot not know,
what you're knowing
they're all gone and
we'll go too
over me every morning
I don't know why I'm so immunized against reforming
to coldly slap at a face full of nothing,
you never know it could've been one of those looks of longing
they're all gone and we'll go too

a song about the inevitability of death.
Maybe Devastator - also maybe a comment on losing yourself to fame just like the rest of them? Just a thought. I think Gord tends to comment on multiple themes, kind of his style IMO, so maybe this could be about both? Or maybe not. Ha ha, isn't that the beauty of Gord??
It surely is, laurieloo 82!
Touring the U.S. and trying to breakthrough the American music industry.
Seems like a song of regret, wonderings of the past or what could have been. In my opinion:
The first verse is about not being afraid of standing out from the crowd at risk of looking like a fool. The second verse might be about the past being gone and some things being forever unknown. The third is about wasting time, not making the most of it and yet "not reforming" despite said wisdom. The fourth is about ignoring somebody, maybe a girl, not asking her out, and forever wondering if she felt the same. The overall tone of the song is to move on and avoid dwelling on the past.
One of my favorite hip lyrics among many others.
