Fighting Starlight Lyrics

is this what you want. it's eight o'clock. i'm nodding off. starlight is stealing my heart tonight. bar fight but i won't be there. and i've tried all this before. you swing and you miss and i miss the way things used to be. late night and you're driving me crazy. wait 'till you find this ain't the life you want to lead. regular. every night. regular. but i won't fight you. what if i don't care

i think that the MUSIC behind the lyrics is just as beautiful and heartwrenching in all their songs.

i read on the deep elm site (benton falls' record label) that their idea with the title 'fighting starlight' is like that moment just before the sun's about to go down. it's not yet night time and it's not still daytime. it's this in between time. and the whole concept of fighting starlight is like being in between something (be it a feeling, an action, etc.) and how sometimes it's easier to be in the in between instead of in the true feeling of things.
