This is your life Lyrics
And you open the door and you step inside
Where inside our hearts
Now imagine that your pain is a white ball of healing light
That's right-your pain, the pain itself is a white ball of healing light
I don't think so
This is your life Good to the last drop
It doesn't get any better than this
This is your life and its ending one minute at a time
This isn't a seminar This isn't a weekend retreat
Where you are now You can't even imagine what the bottom will be like
Only after disaster can we be resurrected
Its only after you've lost everything that you are free to do anything
Nothing is static Everything is evolving
Everything is falling apart
This is your life(4)
It doesn't get any better than this
This is your life(4)
And its ending one minute at a time
You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake
You are the same decaying organic matter as everything else
We are all part of the same compost heap
We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world
You are not your bank account
You are not the clothes you wear
You are not the contents of your wallet
You are not your bowel cancer
You are not your grand latte
You are not the car you drive
You are not your fucking khakis
You have to give up
You have to give up
You have to realise that someday you will die
Until you know that, you are useless.
I say never let me be complete
I say may I never be content
I say deliver me from Swedish furniture
I say deliver me from clever art
I say deliver me from clear skin and perfect teeth
I say you have to give up
I say evolve, and let the chips fall where they may.
This is your life(4)
Doesn't get any better than this
This is your life(4)
And its ending one minute at a time
You have to give up
You have to give up
I want you to hit me as hard as you can (2)

I work at a certain big name bookstore that not only carries copies of Fight Club and Palahniuk's other works, but also features a cafe named after one of the mates in Moby Dick.
Every day I see these sort of people who live by what they do for a living or what they wear, drive and drink. Nomally, they are yacking into a cell phone, totally oblivious to the outside world. God forbid you don't start your day without a grande latte. Who in their right mind spends five bucks for a cup of coffee? I recall a time when folks complained the phone rang when you were in the bath, eating dinner or making love. Now eveyone thinks they are Mr. Spock...flipping their little communicators and discussing personal and work related matters in public.
I think the message of the song, film and book is clear...we are a consumer society that judges and values by items of "status". The more trendy, overpriced useless crap you own, the more important you seem. Bullpucky. We need to evolve back to when we were human beings and department store manakins.
Song from the movie Fight Club, mixed with Tyler Durden speechs
this song describes the modern day downtown street fuck who values their life based upon their fuckin khakis. It is representative of darwins idea that man is not sepaerate, but applies to the laws of nature just like tyler durden's statement, you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake, you are the same decomposing matter as everything else,
Beautiful. This song is the manifestation of the most enlightening movie EVER. Everybody who reads this and isn't easily offended, read the book. It's truly awesome. If nothing else, it'll make you laugh. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. While you're at it, you might wanna read Invisible Monsters, but definitely read Fight Club. Seriously. In Palahniuk's world, everything is an exaggeration of the bourgeois emptiness that's in our world. So, naturally, his characters need to find an exaggeration of the actions necessary to escape the shiney hollowness at the top of the food chain.
The only better fight club song is "project mayhem" by finch
Good call "loserdork"...Chuck Palahniuk is a great writer...I personally liked Survivor better then Invisible Monsters...still good though. Can't wait till "Lullaby" (sp?) comes out.
Fight Club made me laugh, of course I understood the book after seeing the movie 5/6 times.
This song is pretty straight forward, that nobody is some special god...everybody in one way or another is the same damn thing, so don't fake your way out of it. Just be who you are and "let the chips fall where they may"
i was surprised the song made it here because i didn't think the dust brothers would be. i've been meaning to getting around to reading the book which should be a good idea. i've analyzed the movie so many damned times with my friends, i'm too lazy to say what i think and it's too early/late inthe/at night/morning.
This song is just the definition of escaping and finding your identity: the same shit as everyone else. The lyrics were written by Chuck Palahniuk himself, I shit you not. http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net All of his books are awesome, of course Fight Club rules, but also read the others(Survivor, Invisible Monsters, Choke, and Lullaby) God the man's a genius.
i love this track... I think many people find these lyrics negative, I find the opposite is true, when I listen to the song, everything he says is so true that it's kind of humbling, you are the same decaying organic matter as everything else, it motivates me, makes me realise if i don't live today the right way, my way, who knows if i'll have tomorrow....
brilliant "finchguy", the song porject mayhem isnt even in the movie fight club, they just ripped the song name off. plus the project mayhem in the movie had a point to it, the finch song... didnt.
