One of the nicer slow CS songs out there... one I can relate to in a couple ways too. It's obviously about a relationship between the two people that didn't work out. The guy narrating the song tried to be the one for her and appears to care a great deal for her, but somehow it didn't work out and he realizes maybe he isn't the one for her. She seems to be patiently waiting for the right guy while her world bleeds, probably from a previous relationship gone bad, but can't reason that he could be the right one for her.
I really liked you, and I tried to get your attention, but no matter how hard I tried, you never saw me. You need someone there for you, but I guess "I'm not the one" to help you.
to add to the above... "clouds of thought you filter though never to reason." This seems to mean that the person thinks about a potential relationship with the other person, but has no reason for not wanting to start a relationship. Sometimes realizing you aren't the one is the hardest thing you'll come across.
