I think it's a guy who's in a relationship w/t somebody & the person is alwayz lying 2 him or making up excuses. He feels really bad cuz of that cuz he really likes her. He feels dizzy. (Yea you get me high I'm feeling so low How far will you let me go)

"Vertigo" means like a form of dizziness, occurs as a result of a disturbance.

Which he is disturbed by his g/f or a gurl.

yeah the meaning of virtigo is important to the meaning of this song. not only does it mean "dizzy" but also "in a confused state of mind " which he seems to be...he gets his hopes up for this girl and then crushes him. yet again he and again it seems he goes back to her ("i'll make the same mistakes with the same old lies")

Pity this song wasn't on their album, because it's one of their better songs, shoulda took a crappy one off and put this one on, I believe it's only on the American Pie soundtrack. Oh well.

the word vertigo usually is assosciated with hights, once i was having a problem in Zion National Park in UT, where we were up on this canyon wall (im afraid of hights) and i was singing the chorus over and over to calm myself

Song explains a lot about me I for some reason believe the same girl everytime she tells me something I know shes lying but I just keep comming back

2nd verse its not "I'm knocked down by the vertical" its "I'm knocked down by the vertigo" its the DAMN NAME OF THE SONG..
