Until I Wake Up Lyrics
I rest my head
Between the bed and sky
Download my dread
Disarm my mind
Make it dry
Nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied
No disappointment, until I wake up
Don't want to wake up
Into clear space
Vivid vision
See her shape
At my bedside
Beam up my mind please
There's nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied
No disappointment, until I wake up
There's nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied
No disappointment, until I wake up
I don't want to wake up
Ooh, Oooooooh, Oooooooh
Nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied
No disappointment, until I wake up
There's nothing in motion, and I'm satisfied
No disappointment, until I wake up
I don't want to wake up, no
I don't want to wake up, no
Ooh, Ooh
I don't want to wake up, no

I stumbled across this song by accident...and what an accident! This song sums up how someone feels when they truly yearn for another, yet understand this is only attainable in their dreams. I know after listening to this song...i don't want to wake up...
I think it's about finally being happy, and trying to keep everything calm b/c if you get things stirred then disappointment and the realities of life come crashing in. It's about living in a dream world not reality were you don't have to face life. It's great song I think we all search for that point inside of ourselves (the dream) where we are at peace. I could be wrong it could be suicide, Who Knows??/
I think it might actually be where you someone special passed on and you're dreaming about him/her ("vivid vision see her shape"). The song on "Above the Wreckage" from the newest album was about a close friend that died in a car accident.
I think the song can be interpreted in many different ways since the lyrics are describing an emotion more than a scenario or story. But I think what I mentioned above seems to make the most sense. Of course I'm also writing this 3 years after the last comment.
Nobody's posted on this yet? Their best song by far!! amazing!
Maybe he means that he is only when he is sleeping/dreaming, because when he wakes up, all his troubles come back...
I really don't think any of Dishwalla's songs are about suicide. Most of them are, yes, depressing, but not suicidal. My take of this song is that he feels closer to God only when he is sleeping. He has referred to God as a she in the past, but this might be a lil bit of a stretch.
Well, the song Haze is pretty suidical.....
In the oblivion of sleep I escape the madness of an empty life and its elusive meaning. Yet there is the inevitable return from this transient respite, where I wake to find myself with yesterdays fleeting epiphanies...
This is definitely the greatest Dishwalla song of all time! I don't think this song has anything to do with God. I think he's just saying that sleep is amazing. Dreaming is awesome cause you don't have to stress over the things in life that can be such a headache...
I never liked to play cover songs until I heard this song. There's just something about it that makes me just feel at peace with myself. More than I ever have. They are one of the greatest bands on my list. The guitar riff is simple to learn, the drum parts are also easy, but most of all, it's impressive. I love it. I love singing the song over and over and over again. J.R. Richards is the best.
