this song is saying how she was the only one that made him make it through his days. then he fell in love with her and she left him. he doesnt want to go back to his house because it reminds of all the memories they have together so he'll go away so its not always on his mind. he also makes the point that good friends arent the easiest to find or in that case keep. It's hard to trust people and you always wind up trusting the wrong people

This song reminds me of a girl who I meet in high school, dated for just over five years and eventually broke up with (mutally, well sorta').
