I don't want to barge in on your secrecy see dependency see it means nothing to me
I don't want to hear about your problems and I don't want to listen to your apathy see
You're not like me see You mean nothing to me All your cash doesn't make you any greener.

[Chorus]
I don't need anyone to tell me what to feel.
I don't need anyone to hate the world with me.
Day in, day out It's not that bad.

I worry and I worry but you'll never have to worry again, you'll never be alone.
In my room with a bucket full of phlegm I don't need a music scene to tell me who I am
I should have got a warning should have came a year ago should
I sent her a birthday card? My conscience tells me no.

I believe that the "bucket full of phlegm" may be a reference to the four humours theory of Medieval "science": it was thought that there were four substances in the body and that having too much of one would affect your character. Phlegm was associated with calmness, stolidness or apathy. "A bucket full" suggests that he has a ton of it, so basically what he's saying is that he's apathetic as f*ck and can't be bothered to do anything - not even send a birthday card. He'd rather sit in his room and define himself by his hate for the world than be like all those other pathetic people who think that following a specific music scene is a valid substitute for a personality, but the truth may be that in reality he's not that different from them.

Or not. I don't know, I really love TK's lyrics but most of the time I can't make head or tails of them.
